π Sadly this is not the post we wanted to be writing, especially as we head into the new year and what we hoped would be a fresh start for Mira. The operation had gone well but sadly as it was nearing completion Miraβs little body couldnβt keep going and she passed under anaesthetic. The vet was very confident that her leg could have been fixed and given her a normal life, sadly this was not to be. Thank you to those who had donated towards her operation, we are so sad we couldnβt give her the second chance she deserved.RIP Mira, and live your life in the clouds that you should have lived down here π … See MoreSee Less
π€ Miraβs Story β Praying for a Miracle π€Mira (short for Miracle) is a young bunny, under 6 months old, who suffered a broken femur after a tragic Christmas accident. Her family had only had her for four days, bought from a pet store and through no fault of her own, Mira faced the very real possibility of being put to sleep, the cheaper option rather than the cost of having her leg repaired. The vet who we work closely with contacted us, and we stepped in immediately.π° Mira will have surgery tomorrow to repair her leg, and we are covering the full cost of her treatment. The amazing specialist orthopaedic vet is heavily discounting the work, and dedicated vet nurse will be providing her rehabilitation and ongoing care, giving her the best possible chance at a pain-free, happy life.π Accidents happen β even in loving homes β and rabbits are incredibly fragile animals. This situation is a powerful reminder that unexpected veterinary costs can arise at any time, and that preparation and education are essential before bringing any animal home. Buying from a pet shop means no back up, no support when things go wrong and often the animals have been kept in small cages for months on end. β¨ Mira is here today because of intervention, compassion, and community support β but her journey isnβt over yet and we must keep everything crossed and pray that the operation goes smoothly and she heals well. π We are fundraising to help cover Miraβs surgery, rehabilitation, and ongoing veterinary care. Every donation, no matter the size, helps give this little miracle the future she deserves. If you can help us, the link is www.justgiving.com/page/mira-miracle?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CLThank you for supporting rescue, education, and second chances π€#MirasMiracle #RabbitRescue #SecondChance #Fundraiser BunnyInRecovery RescueSavesLives … See MoreSee Less
π SEEKING FOREVER HOMES πJohn and Coal are still in their prime and would love a permanent residence. They're both around 5 years old and ever so friendly. Coal was at first thought to be feral, so he had his ear tipped, but he was found to be a bit of a lap cat instead! πΉIf you'd like to offer either of these boys a home, do get in touch.
